NEW Organizing Bins at Target! (2024)

It's been a while since I checked out the bins at Target, and they've come out with some awesome dupes for some of my favorite bins! Watch the video here to shop with me and see my review, or keep reading to check out what I found!

NEW Organizing Bins at Target! (1)

Brightroom Line

The best line of bins at Target (in my opinion) are their Brightroom bins. There are multiple styles, and honestly what they offer would be enough variety to organize an entire home. The quality vs. cost is a great balance, too!

They have pantry bins and even a set of canisters. Although I still think I'd go for the Home Edit Canisters from Walmart that are about the same price. They're very similar, though.

Dupe for IKEA Kuggis

NEW Organizing Bins at Target! (2)

My favorite set of bins from IKEA are their white Kuggis bins. These are the bins that are behind me on my bookshelves! They look so pretty, and they make me so happy, lol! But there are a few issues with the Kuggis:

  1. IKEA products can just be HARD to get. You can go to an IKEA store, but those are only in big cities and often require a lot of travel time to get there. It's also really difficult (if not impossible) to order some of their products online.
  2. They are often not in stock. I'm not sure if they're having supply chain issues or if they're discontinuing some or all of this line. I really hope they're not fully discontinuing, but regardless, the stock issues make them hard to get.

Enter…the Target dupe!! They are SUPER similar! The target dupes also come in clear acrylic as well as the white, so that's a nice option if you really love the acrylic look.

There are multiple sizes, and they all have lids. They're stackable. And the best part– MODULAR!! I absolutely adore when bins are modular because I love being able to stack them in all sorts of combinations and having them all be perfectly the same size and height.

It think this style of bin works best in an office situation. I think there are better options for the pantry or bathroom. Really the only issue I have with these is that the lids are a little tricky to get on. They do fit, but the sides of the bins bow in just a bit because they're not shipped and stored with the lids on them. I'm hoping with time and being stored with lids in place that things will get a bit easier.

However, this is really a very small issue. The lids do fit well. It only takes a tiny bit more attention to get them on. I love how secure these are once they're stacked in place. They don't slide around, and they nest on top of each other perfectly.

Pricing is very similar between the Target and the IKEA versions. One thing to note is that the clear acrylic costs about $1 more per bin. This isn't a big deal if you're just buying a few, but if you're doing a huge project, this can add up. Personally, I also think that clear acrylic bins can be harder to use because they just look messier since you can see everything inside. It all depends on your preference, though!

The sizes are similar to what's offered at IKEA, too. The large bin will fit a full sheet of 8.5×11 paper. The small bins are taller. I would consider this a con because I'd prefer everything to be the same height, but they do store a bit more this way. The Brightroom line also offers an extra size that IKEA doesn't carry. It's a long, skinny bin that would be perfect for storing things like rolls of vinyl.

You can't go wrong with either the IKEA or the Target version, but if you're looking for something that's easy to obtain or order online, the Target version is definitely the way to go!

Dupe for The Container Store's Multipurpose Bin

NEW Organizing Bins at Target! (4)

FINALLY– someone has duped my favorite bin ever, the Multipurpose Bin!! I've been waiting for a dupe, and Target's version is a great one! If you've been around here long, you know how much I love these bins. I have a whole video on how much I love them and why, and how many uses there are for these bins.

Target's version is VERY close, but there are a few differences, too. The Target versions come in exactly the same sizes as The Container Store's: Small, Medium, Large, and XL. Both XL bins are wider as well as deeper, so you can store bulkier items in a closet, and they're great for things like kids' toys.

The other main difference is that The Container Store bins have vents in the sides. I'm not really sure why this is since they have open tops. So the vents aren't really needed for actual ventilation. Target's version has smooth, solid sides, which makes labeling much easier.

Here's how the pricing breaks down:

Target The Container Store

S $5 $6

M $7 $7

L $10 $8

XL. $12 $9

Surprisingly, Target is a tiny bit more expensive. However, I really think things would equal out over the course of a project, depending on which bins you used most often. Both stores have sales, and their sales are pretty equivalent, too.

Both stores are easy to order from. You can order online at both. There are definitely more Target stores than Container Stores, though, so it's probably a bit easier to buy and return to Target than it is to The Container Store for most people, unless you live near a larger city with a Container Store.

I don't really think it would be a good idea to mix and match between the two stores, though. They're just a little different that not having a uniform look would bug me. If I were starting over, I might go for the Target bins. I'm shocked by that, honestly, because I adore the Multipurpose bin… but I really do like those smooth, non-vented sides that are so easy to label on the Target multipurpose bins.

Brightroom Stackable Bathroom Bins

NEW Organizing Bins at Target! (6)

Another favorite bin style at Target are the frosted stackable bins that are perfect for bathrooms. They have completely straight sides, so they stack totally straight. They're also modular, so you can combine all the sizes on top of each other in a ton of different configurations.

If you stack them, I wouldn't put something in the bottom that is frequently used, but otherwise it does help use the vertical space under.a sink that might otherwise go unused. They come in three colors: clear acrylic, frosted clear, and frosted black.

NEW Organizing Bins at Target! (7)

The best part– they are shallow enough to fit on an upper cabinet shelf! Bins this size are so hard to find! I'm not sure why– but most bins are just long enough that the doors on an upper cabinet won't close with them on a shelf. These bins fit perfectly, and they look so uniform!

I would recommend labeling them because they're not easy to see through to the contents. The great thing, though, is that the sides are flat and smooth, so they're super easy to label.

Target has a great mix of bins, and they also strike a good balance between being good quality and also lower priced. I love how they've duped some of my favorite bins to make them more accessible, too! Let me know if you plan to buy any of these bins from Target soon!
